Test Pilot IV
Pilots model aircraft to ensure compliance with federal regulations and product specifications. Ensures operational functionality and pilot and passenger safety. Recommends changes to cockpit or aircraft to better meet the pilot's needs or to improve flight. May pilot demonstrations for government officials or customers. Performs tests and maneuvers as developed by engineers. Requires a bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager.
